1/2 lb Dried green split peas
1-1/2 cups Diced ham
2 ea Carrots
1/2 ea Onion, chopped
1 ea Celery stalk, chopped
1 tsp Minced garlic
1 ea Bay leaf
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
4 cups Chicken broth

Add the split peas to a slow cooker in a single layer, and top with layers of the ham, carrots, onion, celery and garlic.
Add the bay leaf, and salt and pepper.
Pour the chicken broth over the mixture (do not stir).
Cover and set slow cooker on high. Cook until the split peas are falling apart, about 4-5 hours.
